Welcome to Holy Infancy School!
Holy Infancy School, a parish school in the Diocese of Allentown, has been serving the community since 1894. It is located in an urban and ethnically diverse part of Bethlehem known as “The South Side”. Offering classes from Pre-K through Eighth Grade, with a full-day Kindergarten, the school has been fully accredited by the Middle States Commission for Schools. Students who attend Holy Infancy live in surrounding neighborhoods and cities. Transportation is provided through local school districts.
Our Mission Statement
At Holy Infancy Catholic School, each child is a member of our family. We educate our children to their highest level and nurture them based on Jesus’ Gospel Values. We celebrate and respect our multiple cultures and the religious beliefs of all. Our children learn, strive, and grow to reach God’s plan for their lives.
Mi Escuela, Mi Familia – My School, My Family – Minha Escola, Minha Familia
Holy Infancy School was nominated to receive a special end of the year grant to support our math and science programs. We were blessed to receive a check for $1,000.00!
The grant is funded through the ExxonMobil Education Alliance (EMEA) grant program which supports math and science programs in schools across the United States. CrossAmerica Partners had some leftover funds from the 2015-15 program. So Mr. Jose Santiesteban, a longtime parishioner who moved to Texas recently, recommended our school to be supported.
We are looking to use the grant to obtain some science computer programs we could purchase to enhance our teaching of science in the class room. Also, our science teacher is looking into some materials that will help with our science projects!
We thank CrossAmerica and Lehigh Gas Wholesale, along with the global brand partner ExxonMobil for all their generosity to Holy Infancy School!
“Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.”
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the newest member of the Holy Infancy family! My
name is Marjorie Manasse and I am the new principal of Holy Infancy. I am a 15 year resident of
Bethlehem. Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, I am a proud product of Catholic schools. I have
two beautiful daughters, Khayla and Kasy. I joined the field of education later in life. My joy of
embarking in the journey of education led me to the pursuit of inspiring children to also embrace all that
learning has to offer. After five years of classroom experience in first, public school then charter school, I
became Dean of Students for the elementary school and last year became the assistant principal for middle
school. Each step of my journey has been another step in my pursuit of providing an excellent educational
experience for children.
This year I lead Holy Infancy in Mission Possible: Outstanding Academic & Spiritual Achievement for
All. Our journey will begin on Monday August 29th.
Whether you are new to Holy Infancy or a veteran, we welcome you to a great year of learning together.
It’s a new beginning, a fresh start, and a chance to enjoy the challenges of learning and growing together.
At Holy Infancy, we value and maintain high academic and spiritual expectations for our students. The
learning that takes place each day represents building blocks that ensure future success. I take this
responsibility very seriously and want you to know that I am committed to the success of every child.
Understanding that educating our students is a team effort, we believe your participation is essential in
order for each child to reach his/her fullest potential. We invite you to become an active participant in our
school community through volunteering by joining our Parent Teacher Organization and/or attending and
supporting school events. Your involvement also includes setting time aside for homework, encouraging
open communication between student and teacher, and supporting the high spiritual, behavior and
academic standards set by our teachers and staff.
Our priority is to maintain a safe and healthy school environment for all students. In order to do this, we
ask that you carefully read the handbook and clearly communicate the academic standards and
spiritual expectations with your child; for the success of all scholars, it is important that your child
clearly understand these expectations.
Please reach out if you have questions or need additional clarification. The staff and I look forward to a
great year ahead with you and your family! I look forward to seeing you at our Back to School Night on
Thursday, September 20 , 2016 at 7:00 PM.
